3/4 pound noodles, cooked and drained (use the wide egg noodles)
1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
1 pound Ricotta cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup additional Mozzarella cheese, grated
Mix together the noodles, Mozzarella, Ricotta and Parmesan cheese. In a 9x13-inch lasagna pan, lay alternate layers of Meat Sauce and noodle mixture, starting and ending with the meat sauce. Sprinkle top with additional Mozzarella.
Bake casserole in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes or until piping hot. Serves 6.
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 pound lean ground beef
1 can (1 pound 12 ounces) tomato puree
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon Italian Herb Seasoning
1 bay leaf
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
salt and pepper to taste
Sauté onion in butter until onions are soft. Add ground beef and sauté until meat loses its pinkness. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer mixture for 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Use on spaghetti and lasagna.
